Biography

Constable Bussie Wood #1971 obtained her Law Enforcement Diploma from Seneca College in 1995 and went on to work for Toronto Police as a Court Officer.  She became a Police Officer in 1998 and began working with Peel Police on the road in Mississauga and then went into the Youth Education Bureau. In 2009, Bussie transferred to York Regional Police where she has worked on the road at 1 District in Newmarket, at the Community Safety Village in Stouffville and has been a Senior Safety Officer since January 2015.

As part of the Senior Safety Team, Bussie provides support to our older adults as well as community partners in order to ensure the safety and protection of everyone involved.  Bussie is married with 3 children who are all very involved in competitive sports in which Bussie has coached them all at one time or another.
